Emergency Departments. We are the first institution nationally to host the Emergency Critical Care Center, an integral part of patient care, education, and research.
Research: The U-M Department of Emergency Medicine is ranked #1 in National Institutes of Health funding and continues to receive significant funding from other federal agencies, foundations, industry, and philanthropy.
Education: We conduct our four-year emergency medicine residency in partnership with St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Ann Arbor and Hurley Medical Center, Flint. We emphasize clinical excellence and premier preparation for careers in academic medicine. Our pediatric emergency medicine division and fellowship is based in the C.S. Mott Children's Hospital. Emergency Medicine is a required clinical clerkship at the University of Michigan Medical School.

Requirements: Residency training and/or board certification in Emergency Medicine.
Preferred: Fellowship training in the areas listed above.
